Master Scuba Diver

DIVEMASTER: (First step to becoming a PADI professional diver!)
My course fee includes the PADI Divemaster Crewpack, DM certificate and logbook plus all the tanks required for the course. The DM Crewpack is a valuable package which includes the Divemaster Manual, Divemaster slates, the Diving Knowledge Workbook, the Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving, the Discover Scuba Diving Instructor Guide, the Scuba Review/Discover Local Diving Instructor Guide and the Discover Snorkelling/Skin Diver Instructor Guide. [All of which you may teach as a DM]

PADI also recommends that student candidates purchase the PADI Wheel, RDP and the eRDP if you do not already own them.

All DM candidates should own a complete set of gear, however weight belts are provided if required. Gear rental at a greatly reduced cost is available.
Please note. The PADI Dive Master annual membership fee is not included.

Course Fee: NT$26,000. Please inquire for more details of this extensive training course. No course will have more than one student.

NB: A word to the wise. If you do not intend to become a full time PADI professional and rapidly step up to be a PADI instructor there is absolutely no point in becoming a DM. As a DM you will pay an annual fee of NT$3,000 plus to PADI to maintain your DM status. If you do not pay the annual fee [the 2nd year] you revert back to Rescue Diver status. Do not expect to earn much money as a DM at some exotic resort. The best you can expect is 'free' diving in return for the huge responsibility of sheep dogging a bunch of 'dive once a year' darlings. This, believe you me is NOT fun. If you want to do something 'cool' and fun go for your Master Scuba Diver certification, this is well worth having and imparts status to you as a diver. It is the 'black belt' of scuba diving. If you do desire to become a DM, my advice is to choose an experienced instructor who will be able to impart their many years of invaluable diving knowledge and experience onto to you.

Assistant Instructor.

Fun Dives and Discover Local Diving

Fun dives in Kenting or elsewhere and Discover Local Diving (if you are new to Taiwan) can be arranged every weekend.
The guide fee for fun dives is NT$1,800 for 1 dive or NT$2,500 for 2 dives. This price includes gear, tanks and weight belt. If you own your own gear the cost is NT$1,000 for 1 dive and NT$1,700 for 2 dives this includes tanks and weight belt. A minimum of 2 or more divers is preferred.

*Travel from Kaohsiung to Kenting and back can be arranged in a private car [small group 2 or 3] for a contribution towards car expenses of NT$350 round trip per person or NT$200 one-way. With large groups [4 or more] I rent a large VW van and the cost per person is NT$500 to $600 depending on the group size.

Advice and assistance on gear purchases given freely. In addition, a minimum discount of 20% is available off dive shop prices to all students on all dive gear purchases. Gear prices in Taiwan are very competitive with other countries around Asia. Wetsuits, booties, masks, fins, weight belts, BCDs and diving accessories [all made in Taiwan] are an especially good deal.

NB: All the above courses are taught to PADI standards regarding class size or student ratios.
Please note that the above prices are subject to change without notice.
